Wills and Trusts

A Will is one of the most important documents you’ll ever put your name to, yet studies consistently show most adults in the UK don’t have an up-to-date one. If yours is missing, outdated, or was written without your full financial picture in mind, now is the time to put that right.

The Challenge

Without a valid, current Will, your estate may not be distributed the way you intend, and in some cases, the law decides for you. Even where a Will exists, it can fall out of step with your finances if it wasn’t written alongside a proper financial plan.

Our Approach

We look at your Will in the context of your wider financial life, your estate, your pensions, your investments, and your family circumstances — so it works with your plan, not separately from it. We’ll help you think through the decisions that matter, then work alongside a solicitor to have it properly drafted.

What’s Covered

This includes guidance on guardianship and provision for children, tax-efficient structuring of your estate, how trusts might feature in your Will, and making sure beneficiaries, executors, and instructions are all clearly aligned with your broader plan.

Our Credentials

As Chartered financial advisers based in Winchester, we’ve helped generations of local families make sure their Wills genuinely reflect their wishes and fit within a coordinated financial strategy, not just a standalone document in a drawer.

“Martin became our financial adviser as my husband Tony prepared to retire from his directorship at Marsh. Since we lost Tony in 2014, Martin’s advice and support has been exceptional. I have no hesitation in recommending him and his team at Collingbourne”

“I first met Martin when seeking advice on how best to manage our finances from the latter stages of self-employment to a retirement of plausible “comfort and security”. My wife and I will be forever grateful for the unstinting help and wise counsel Martin has provided for the past twenty years. On all things financial, he remains our first port of call.”

“After selling our business we reinvested the proceeds of our lifetime’s work with Collingbourne, who also took to looking after our pension funds. Their expert personal attention has successfully guided us and our family for well over two decades and Martin has always been available when needed. We cannot speak too highly of him and his personnel.”
